There are some avatars of members that I 'get' but I'm interested to hear the stories behind some of the others. I bet they are interesting. If you're willing to share I'd love to hear about why you chose your avatar or what it means.

Mine is the cover of Big Star's (1970's power-pop group) first album. I have an obsession with 1970's music and it's one of my favorite album's of all time. I feel like a lot of the songs on that album represent stories that have happened in my life so I chose that as my avatar.

Mine is a cropped screenshot from the PC game Impossible Creatures. A moose combined with a Hercules beetle.

"I thought what I'd do was pretend I was one of those deaf mutes."
A J.D. Salinger quote taken out of context from the hacker anime Ghost in the Shell...

I figured you'd like it since you said you like 1970's music, the creator likes a lot of 70s and 80s Western music, so he names a lot of characters and powers after musicians, bands and song names from those eras.

Heck JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is probably the only anime to use Western songs in their closings (Yes! - Roundabout and The Bangles - Walk like an Egyptian).

Checking these games out on YouTube. Really cool. I am learning a lot this evening.

Heretic looks awesome. Found it on YouTube as well.

I've definitely got to start reading this series now. I'm a big Ennio Morricone fan and I love Spaghetti Westerns and the old oaters.

I simply like this bird because of its big, blue feet. They´re unique. :D
If it has to be symbolic, this avatar is supposed to symbolize uniqueness in a slightly "askew" manner. :alien:

I like wolf images, especially white wolves and usually incorporate my favourite images into my stories. So this is Nekiisha, a guardian of the galaxy who symbolizes goodness and justice.

I use a few other avatars as well, including Zandrian: a squirrel who goes on secret missions on behalf of Super-Zakhyria.

Mine is a picture of Agent Dale Cooper, who is portrayed by Kyle MacLachlan in my favourite TV series of all time, Twin Peaks.

@Boo Radley: Outside of HS english I don't know much Salinger to be honest - I just love honing my crafts as a hacker, which requires a lot of context. Ghost in the Shell, despite or perhaps as a function of its' setting is starkly realistic.

Mines based on the character lizbeth salander from the girl with the dragon tattoo books/movies. I like her because she is inquisitive and can find a way to overcome many things. She also has aspergers, mentioned in the books but not the movies.

This is my favourite picture of my dog, Pixel. I really like my dogs, and I don't have a good one of Ruby yet (let alone the two together), so this one's staying until I can get a good shot of the two of them. They're kind of one of my special interests, and I have a lot of fun training with them. Ruby's doing Rally-O right now, and I'm technically doing agility with Pixel, but we're on an extended break atm since our obedience school doesn't have enough people interested in the level 3 agility yet to make a class. Ruby's going to do agility once we're done with the Rally-O I think; she's a jumper and I think she'll have a lot of fun :)
