Does anybody else love christmas, but gets upset by the presents?
And by the presents I mean waiting and the suspense from not knowing what they are. I get super stressed about it because I don't like surprises.
I just want to get it over with....

You would hate my family's Christmas tradition then. It lasts until midnight with everyone taking turns opening presents. I used to hate it, but it's grown on me since two of my aunt's six kids are in their double digits now and aren't as annoying.

That's awesome, we do that too, but ours has never lasted that long though, maybe into late afternoon.

i love christmas, i love getting presents... you know.. as long as its what i asked for.

i understand what you mean. one year i just asked for sonic things, nothing else, but my dad got me this really nice bamboo tablet (for drawing) a kick ass zombie piggy bank, a book about the human body (which i love) candy and some really fun video games. These gifts were awesome, my dad knows me and knew i would like them, but because they werent sonic it made me anxious but i assured my dad they were very nice gifts and that i loved them its just hard that they werent sonic related.

Actually, I despise the holidays, and even then, despise is too weak a word to describe how I actually feel about Christmas.

Yes, I know, the church "borrowed" the date of this holiday from the pagans. I'm pretty much a throwback to Puritan thought, where they did not celebrate that holiday, since the Puritans consider Epiphany to be more sacred than Christmas.

What really gets me down in the sh!tter is all the crass commercialism, as well as the drunken debauchery that goes especially at this time of year. Plus, when you add to the fact the rest of the family will have nothing to do with me, now that both of my parents are gone, it really makes me think of how much of a cosmic f!ckup I really am.

I'm in the exact same situation, and that's what makes Christmas so f*****g great. I have absolutely zero Christmas shopping to do. :D

No, I can't relate to that at all. Even as a child I loved the suspense with the butterflies in my stomach and the excitement of seeing the gifts lying there wrapped waiting for me. It was a long wait because I was so excited, but I still loved and enjoyed it. It was part of the Christmas joy for me. (and birthday to for that matter).
Even today I sometimes feel that rush of excitement at times, although not as strongly as when I was a child. It's a good kind of suspense so I enjoy it. Just like watching /reading an exciting movie /book.

It's only the bad kind of suspense that cause me stress, like waiting to hear from loved ones you are worried about for some reason, or waiting for the result of a doctor's test, you know, things with possible serious outcomes.

I never had a problem with presents, I hated waiting for everyone to be up. I was always way too excited to open presents because I loved getting new toys. I also could never wait for Christmas either. It was always a torture.
