Ive always had problems with planning ahead, seeing the bigger picture and various other things, which since diagnosis have come to learn is known as executive dysfunction.
If any of you lovely people on here have the same kind of problem, do you have any tips on how you overcome your issues with it please?
Its not a massive problem, I live more day to day than anything else, I would just like to see if I can gain more control over various aspects of my life.
Much appreciated and thank you :D

I have that problem too, it gets really annoying sometimes. My life is still a disorganized mess, but my brother (who might have autism too) has these problems too and he overcomes them by keeping a list of everything he needs to get done sorted into three priority levels.

I have a problem with knowing there to start and breaking things into smaller steps. Even vacation planning is overwhelming. It's best to learn all the steps and where to start and what next step to take next.

I also have that problem as well. I'll need to get those special notepads in order to set my priorities. The types of notepads that come in a variety of colours that you make lists on.

There is a variation on this idea called an Eisenhower matrix which might be useful.

Sadly these kind of things never work for me because I forget the list exists...

I love to make plans but plans never go according to how I plan it what freaks me out. I am disorganized and I find it hard to stay organized

I have wretched executive functioning, I still am trying to process the fact I struggle with many areas because that is how my brain actually is, it's strange. My gp has allowed me to have appointments with him even if I am late now because I have an awful time managing to stay within time slots if I get too flustered. He told the receptionists to let me sit in the waiting room until he has a spare ten minutes if I am late haha. I never understood why I struggled so heinously with things others seem to be able to deal with until I began really delving into possibilities and obviously autism was at the top of the list for this area and that's what it turned out to be.
