I 'spose autism awareness is ok. But the whole April is Autism month is just absurd. If you are autistic every month is autism month. That being said yes I along with a couple other autistic adults am getting paid to do a presentation at a hospital because it is "Autism Month". Woo hoo! Yeah whatever!

The autism society makes it sound like a big deal like do you think the whole country is going to have freakin autism parties and parades or something? It's another of those NT meaningless things just like the phrase "how are you?". The only people that will even take notice that April is Autism Month are those affected in some way by autism; its meaningless to everyone else. Its just like no one knows or cares that there is a National Pickle Day either. It's all just silliness.

I am aware that I'm an Aspie.

I did my duty for the month.

If they need to give autism a month, why not August? Nothing happens in August, and no one cares about August.

Big deal. The normies get to hear about it for a month. What about the people who have to deal with it all year!?

Whenever I see any of these Autism Awareness programs, I only see the worst case scenarios. The stories of people with AS who are successful are far and few between, if any.

I must be, or intend to be, far and few between.

Also, I believe the expression is FEW and far between!

I have seriously thought about making me a bracelet that says "ASPIE" on it.

And a T-shirt that says "ASPIE" to see how many people end up asking me what an Aspie is. Just for the heck of it. To see if people are even the least bit curious.

You can buy hundreds of different Aspergers shirts online. I wouldn't wear one in public especially not where you live and I once did. Those people burn weirdos at the stake!
