Society teaches us to scorn mediocrity, but I think it's an unhealthy philosophy. All people are of equal value - some are just lucky enough to have been dealt a better hand, in terms of circumstances and talents. Doesn't make them better, or more important. We all do the best we can with the hand we were dealt. For some of us, our accomplishments don't amount to much, but considering the crappy cards we were playing with, it still might qualify as heroic.
