Do you think medical professionals use this forum to gain insight in autism.

As there's stuff here that you'll not find anywhere else ( that's a wild guess )

loosely speaking, this has been on my mind somewhat of late ( amongst a million other things) Just seems odd that there are literally millions of ''professionals'' around the world yet you may only see one or two a month pop their heads in and ask a question... Kind of emphasizes the fact that people seem to speak for us rather than too us! ( bad metaphor incoming) Like a crime scene, do you not go to the source to understand what has happened as opposed to taking on board what so called witnesses say that are often factually wrong in part?

The struggle is real! :ninja:

It's modern America, why waste your time actually researching about your profession if you're already getting paid?

Yup, also i noticed people in such areas get very upset when you try to explain things. It is as if you are challenging their intellect/ideology.. I think the negative side of the human ego is in part to blame for such ignorance and misunderstandings about the spectrum especially the ''higher functioning aspies''.

I doubt any Autism Experts would visit the forum. After all, they are already experts or so they think. They also have jobs and lives and probably don't really give a rats about Autism out of consulting times when it pays to show an interest. That's right peeps, we are really nothing more than billable services and our condition sells books for those experts inclined to write them.

Yeah, only seems the odd ''professional'' will pop their head in here on the forums to ask any questions.

Only my observational point of view. I may be incorrect. However from what i have observed to the number of ''professionals'' roaming this planet it seems i may be somewhat correct in my assumption.

IMO, those are the best kind of threads.

Let everyone be as surprised by what comes out of your mouth as you are yourself.

Maybe more professionals than we notice are here. Maybe they are contacting people by PM. One person sent me a PM about participating in some kind of research.

My occupational therapist showed a lot of interest in my posting here when I first started and checked it out.
