When I'm at the mall I always feel like I'm being stared at. I hate it when strangers stare at me. I feel very judged. The only place you can escape the stares is a bathroom stall. You can't even go to the mall bookstore in peace. You get stared at there as well.

I do like walking in the city. People mind their own business there. Crowds in the city make me feel more anonymous. I kind of feel like I can act weird without people noticing or caring. In the mall some of my "weird behavior" gets me attention from the mall security. In the city the police don't give a damn about me. They leave me alone because they've seen way weirder people.

I agree. I don't care for malls, either. Not because of the stares, though. Because I don't like shopping! LOL

I also agree about the anonymity of the city (people mind their own business), and the more flexible attitudes of city people.

Of course, I'm a city person myself--I'm a New Yorker--so maybe I'm biased!

I believe city people are just used to more "weirdness." People of various types do get along much better in cities.

I also hate malls with a passion, and not for the two reasons that are mentioned above. I always manage to get myself lost while walking through the mall. I took a long walk to work today and I had to cut through my local mall in order to get to Superstore. I've lost all sense of orientation until I saw the black draping that leads to the exit near Sports Smart.

I hate the mall too.
I have a feeling wp has a high prevalence of mall hating.

I don't care for the mall either. Probably because I dislike shopping.

I do not care for malls, they're pretty antiquated now and are almost all dying.

I don't mind malls. Or rather, I'm used to it. They can't overwhelm my senses, I don't get lost easily, and I'm fine doing shopping chores, but not 'retail therapy'.

As long as there are no idiotic biases in services, I'll be fine. Seniors first? Sure. PWD? Fine. XD But 'whites first'? English only? Nepotism like privilledges? Unless if it is reasonably understandable, then I won't like it.

I avoid the malls at all cost. They don't have anything I want.

Besides, who needs a mall when you have Mills Fleet Farm?
