Aspies never want friends so therefore you can't have it since you want some.

Aspies dislike the rest of the world.

You don't have Aspergers if you:

have good eye contact
can read body language and understand facial expressions
have group of friends
able to have conversations with people
don't have an acute sense of smell, taste, hearing, and sight.

Aspergers is caused by 'refrigator mothers'

Aspies do not show emotional warmth (this has actually been said to me by consultant psychiatrists!!)

Aspies have absolutely no social skills whatsoever.

Aspies have no imagination.

Aspies are anti-social.

Aspies are a liability in the workplace.

Aspies are more likely to commit crime.

Aspies just weren't disciplined enough by their parents.

Aspies can and should be 'forced' to be / act NT.

Aspies deserve to have inferior status in society.

Aspies deserve to be discriminated against - if you're 'weird' you deserve everything you get!

Aspies choose to be weird and are just making excuses by saying they have AS.

Aspies are deliberately rude.

aspies cannot use metaphors

You cant be an aspie if you like normal people.

Low-functioning individuals cannot communicate
Low-functioning individuals are “stupid”
Low-functioning individuals always walk and behave physically as if they’ve got a severe demyelinating neurological disease
Low-functioning individuals don't look "good" or "ok", and look “ret*d”
Low-functioning individuals are completely "useless"

Some of these above do apply some of the time but to apply them in a blanket fashion would be wrong.

Hey guys and gals! I have a myth that makes about as much sense!

All Geniuses have IQs below 10

So how did they come up with those stupid myths? With most, it seems like someone read the symptoms, and listed the OPPOSITE as symptoms! So one symptom is you must be average or above, so they myth is you must NOT be average or above!

AS can be cured easily
AS means you're good at programming
AS someone with AS, you're generally classed as being smart, yet stupid
AS means you're expected to be normal

people with AS cannot cover up their situation. they must be obvious at all times.

people with AS have no common sense, but they can crack government codes.
