Is anyone here a member of a local autism support group?

We have one (for "autistic, and aspergian adults") in the Washington DC area that meets at a downtown Asian restaurant. Havent been for a few months. Very busy. Would like to go again.

Participated in a day cruise on the Potomac that was cool. A number of cute ladies are members.

Before my health deteriored I belonged to 3 support groups and found the experiences very helpful. I hope to be able to go again someday.

The place is called Spectrum Services, they do all ages. So yeah as mid/late teen I was with adults that were 30+ and some 20 somethings.

You can put this address into Google maps
303 5th Ave #1003, New York, NY 10016

A few months after my diagnosis was confirmed I registered with a local support ASD group.

They facilitate discussion groups for books and films; play games such as badminton and bowling and occasionally meet up for coffee, too.

Although I have only attended two of their gatherings thus far, all of the other members seem to enjoy the activities and find socialising with other individuals on the spectum to be far more comfortable than they would if they were to be amongst a group of neuro-typicals.

Last year I went to an autism social group, and for a few years I have been going to a social group that includes a lot of autistic people. But we don't really talk about our experiences, we just do games and stuff.
