Do you have a loud tone of voice and how do you try changing it? I get this multiple times a day and feel why do I even talk sometimes. :-( Always OMG! you are too loud. Then IMO I talk quiet and sound IMO stupid. Loud bellow shows strength I'm making a statement! :-)

Nope, speech disorder makes it physiologically impossible for me to be loud in my preferred register. You can't win either way - people keep telling you you're too loud and people keep invading my personal space leaning in because I speak too softly.

No, but I am constantly told I am annoying, animated, insane, overwhelming, intense, unbearable, unsociable, and much more.

Quite a few times I have been told I was too loud. Although I never seem to be able to tell the tone of my own voice.

Yes, or way too quieter. I don't know how loud I'm speaking so can't exactly do anything about it.

I am sometimes told that I am too loud. My voice just seems to get louder when I speak longer, a bit like getting out of control without realizing it. Then I am told that, try to keep my voice down, but after a while it gets louder again.

On the other hand there are also occasions when I speak not loud enough and tend to mumble, so people tell me to speak louder and not to mumble.

Over the time I think I found a pattern regarding those two modes: When I am rather excited or confident then my voice seems to get out of control (maybe I feel too confident to worry about trying to avoid it or my interest in the topic is far more present in my mind, so I just cannot concentrate on my voice). When I am not so confident or not interested I tend to be rather quiet (not talking much) in general and if I talk I am not loud enough.

There is a condition called Auditory Processing Disorder that is often associated with autism/Asperger's. It can cause feedback problems where the volume of a person's own voice doesn't quite get processed or register with the brain, and so you can't tell whether you're being loud or soft. Try looking up APD and see if any of it sounds familiar.

I tend to talk loud and my mom or husband will tell me to lower my voice.

Well, I think I have a loud voice, but my wife is constantly telling me that she can't hear me when I speak from a different room---and our house has an open floor plan upstairs---no doors.

Go figure.

I have countless occasions where I'm told that I'm too loud and it's something I still struggle with to this day.

Yes, especially if I really like the subject or the rare times I'm on the phone.

I can't tell if I'm being too loud unless I'm told I am, or I see the reactions of some people's faces.

I get told I'm too loud, too quiet, that my tone of voice is incorrect.. Etc. Not really sure how to go about controlling any of it, but I do try.
