Hi so I have this problem I'm overly friendly and naïve. I talk to people I just met and get into long conversion s with. I also am very touchy feely I tend to touch people arm shoulder when I talk to them. Sometimes boys think I'm flirting with them. I also force them to look at me when I talk to them because I get worried they are not paying attention to what I was saying. Also I am naïve when I was younger I use to give out my name age personal info to people online I thought were my friends. I got me into a bit of trouble. But I have gotten better now and I am more careful these days.

You know what is funny when people think I'm flirting with them when I'm not it is cute. But when I am intentionally rying to flirt it becomes so painfully obvious it is creepy and annoying!

That's because: if you are aware that you're trying to/want to flirt, you tend to overdo it.

Over the years, I've learned not to think about flirting with somebody. I just learned to just hang out with people. If I want to flirt, it'll come out without any effort on my p art.

Is it an aspie trait to be overly friendly/touchy feely.

I think it may be an aspie trait to not understand boundaries, which could cause someone to be touchy-feely I guess. I am the total opposite when it comes to touch.

Flirting tip for a girl, just blink five times really fast. Like fluttering. And smile, smiling is bomb.

When I was about 7 years old, I used to go up to people and ask something like "Why are you fat?"

I was the type that like to tell people my abilities--like knowing all the capitals of the 1969 world when I was 8. I don't think I wanted to boast. I just wanted to communicate with people. I had no idea how to communicate with people "normally."

All this is reflective of Tony Attwood's idea that Aspie people desire social interaction--but go about it awkwardly.

Yeah, I can relate. Especially in middle and elementary school I was super hyperactive and would talk to anyone about anything...but I was also super grabby and had a difficult time with boundaries. This opened me up for a lot of bullying and oh boy did they have a field day with me, lol. But over the years I've mellowed out quite a bit. I tend to keep to myself more, but now my mom accuses me of being too cold/pouty. *facepalm*

I always wondered why I was (and am) more liked in my birth province of Newfoundland (Canada). There, being overly familiar and friendly (like inviting strangers over for supper) is considered normal. I'm sure I scared off more than one person with that attitude but hey, I found a good one in the end who appreciates it.

I touch other people. I don't generally like it when they touch me. As such, I have learned to ask if it is ok first. Since it is usually in the context of helping something with a baby carrier, it seems to be more acceptable. And I can pass it off as trying to show them how it FEELS to do something they way I'm trying to describe verses me trying to find the words to describe it.
