That I have Aspergers and ADHD.

I've never told anyone before and I've always seen it as a gamble to be honest because I was afraid that I would get stereotyped or perceived differently.

I think it went well because he's not treating me any different and i feel somewhat better as well.

I just thought I'd share that as it was a big deal for me.

Congrats!
I think it will always be a gamble to come out and say things to people about your diagnosis. I feel the same way. I'm glad it is going well for you!

Nice one BB.

It's good to know that you are accepted for being you, it sounds that you made a good decision too.

Nicely done, I had a boss learn of mine & I guess it took about 5 minutes until he tried to actually fight me. The other staff gave me a free year's shop membership & I still have to go get myself paid. Should be fun when I do!

Babybird: I hope it goes well. It seems like it has, so far.

What made you tell your boss?

That's great, babybird! It's good to know you can be honest with your boss and be understood. It's also great he's not really treating you differently. I have a couple professors who know about me, and that's very helpful.

Wow, cberg. Your boss physically attacked you? Or verbally assaulted you? Either way, that's a really crappy reaction to get. :(

I'm glad to hear your disclosure hasn't had any repercussions. Kudos for taking that bold step!

Right on babybird 8) Glad to hear it was a positive thing.

Told my boss a few years ago (gave him a nice letter from my psychologist) and - for me - in hindsight it was the right thing to do.

I told him because I had a one to one meeting with him and I just felt it was an appropriate time and I wanted him to know about me really. Also I hate having to hide.

It has gone well so far.

Thanks for all your kind comment everyone as well.
