Just curious, how many of you do or do not have allergies? Please post either way.

Do you have sinus allergies? Food allergies? Skin allergies? Etc.?

Like I said, even if you don't have allergies, please post that you don't because I want to get a good idea of the yes's and no's.
:)

I'm allergic to pollen, mold spores, and all sorts. I sneeze all year round, but in a specific way depending on the season! Now (Spring) in England is very sneezey and snotty. Lots of trees are having sex, which causes a great deal of itching and soreness in the upper respiratory tract. I have no choice but to take Benadryl Plus and Beconase just to be able to live my life. Having said that, Spring is my fave time of year! :D

Allergic to cats, penicillin, ragweed. Received allergy shots regularly as a kid, which effectively mitigated dust, dairy, and pork allergies.

I get a stuffy nose with a lot of dust. That's it, I don't think that's an allergy. I wheeze when in the grass too much and it's humid.

Husband: Yes! Serious dust allergies

Son: Yes! Cats, grass and some other mysterious stuff that a friend's dog had on his fur.

Also pollen & some flowers give me itchy eyes and make me sneeze (developed quite recently).
Smoke: stuffy nose
Food: tomatoes, (possibly gluten), soy, cheese, nuts, bananas: gut problems & tiredness
Also a bit of dermographism that might have an allergic cause (but nobody can tell me to what).

Just some seasonal allergies during the later part of the summer. Plus a runny nose at the beginning of spring when the pollen count is high. But my brother has some pretty fierce allergies most of the year. He's constantly battling with symptoms and always on medication to control his symptoms.

I get bouts of Psoriasis from time to time. Although another older brother has worse problems with Psoriasis than I do.

Pollen, like everyone else. I get hay fever every May. I don't think I have any other real allergies, but hay fever is definately annoying. What's more annoying is that you have to get a different treatment for hay fever each year. Unless I find a way to stop the hay fever, my head is going to explode! (Not literally, since heads can't explode!)

sinus...smoke, perfume, some cleaning products, certain flowers, dust, mildew...

food allergies....black walnuts, certain types of mushrooms...nothing that has ever been life threating...so far.

skin allergies...sensitive to certain detergents, skin care products, soaps, and makeups...rule of thumb with me is usually the less natural ingredients a product contains...the more likely I'll end up with hives or some annoying rash.

My son has ended up with alot of the same sinus & skin allergies...we both have problems with eczema occasionally.

Allergic to most pollens, dust, cat dander (don't ask me why I have a cat), feathers...

Some food allergies as well, though I've outgrown most of them. Still very allergic to Bananas though.

Am gluten / casein intolerant, so have to eat GFCF...

I also have allergies to penicillin, sulpha, soy, cabbage, sugar and shellfish. I get sporadic reactions to potatoes, eggs and poultry. I have horrible (read: analphylatic) allergies to a whole host of smells /chemicals / products: many cleaning products, toiletries, perfumes, ... the list go on and on. Almost anything can set me off...

I may as well answer my own question.

I have sinus and possible food allergies. These days I tend to have a constant sniffle or itch and almost always have drainage. Due to this drainage, my asthma gets worse and my throat gets enflamed (that's not fun). I seem to be able to have an allergic reaction to just about anything that doesn't smell like food or plain air. :? Perfumes, cigarettes, cleaning products, car fumes, deodorant (smelling it I mean), cats (oh, that's a big one and I've got 3!), dust (which is a mix of cat dander and other random crud), oh, just about anything. I also get really itchy eyes, too.

As for food allergies, I'm not certain but I think I might be a bit sensitive to gluten. I tend to feel better when I eat more brown rice rather than wheat noodles and my gastrointestinal issues seem to lessen a bit.

I used to be allergic to breast milk (gave me inner ear infections). The doctor thought this was a general milk allergy, but now that I've done more research into ASDs and related immune issues, it seems more likely I have IgA Deficiency and was reacting to the IgA that is passed down in breast milk from mother to child. I've got two hypotheses on that: either 1) the infant already has the IgA anti-antibody and it attacks the IgA being passed down, or 2) the mother passes down BOTH the IgA and the antibody to IgA. (I suspect the second is more likely because mothers who test positive for anti-IgA antibodies around the time of giving birth and more likely to have an affected offspring. Meaning they may either be passing down anti-IgA antibodies during pregnancy, birth, or even breastfeeding. And breastfeeding is most probable since the placenta blocks out most harmful things.)

Anywho, I'm a big immuno mess. :D

Also My skin shows an allergic reaction to almost everything.

I don't have any allergies that I know of, but I do have a sensitivity to the sugar substitute Splenda. Makes my stomach hurt like hell if I accidentally drink anything with splenda in it.
