Pacing back and forth - I can never stay seated, I cannot contain the energy. So I pace around the room whilst day dreaming. Another stim is rocking back and forth, I wish I had a rocking chair.

Dancing around like a duck with a broken foot.

Rocking is awesome, too.

I like clicking those pressed metal clicker toys you used to get at birthday parties in the 70s. Clicking pens is ok too but somehow not as satisfying.

I love launching myself off my chair and running up and down the living room, flapping my hands.
The urgency to flap my hands when I need to stay seated at school is very high, but of course it'd be a little inappropriate to do it there, so I rub my hands under the table. Nobody notices (I don't think. But if they do why are they looking down there?)

It's a toss up between pacing on tip-toe or popping the bubbles in bubble-wrap (I've run out since I don't work in a store room any more!).

Chewing on something. Helps me to think too.

Running around in circles with music playing in the background seems to have a calming effect on me. But my psychiatrist would argue it's an OCD trait as I like to walk/trot/run a certain distance each day.

Not grossed out at all.

My son has had some cringe worthy stims over the years.

Its just who he is.

My youngest son with Aspergers does not seem to have any stims though, but used to play his mind games, so
maybe his mind game was more internal

I've never really noticed these things. Just sort of happens without thinking about it.

The two things that really come to mind are peeling off skin (especially from the lower lip) and chewing on the insides of my cheeks.

I don't know if I actually stim.

I space out now and then.

I often find myself touching things with my fingertips like the remote and counting . Or touching my fingertips with my thumb or
maybe twiddling my thumbs. When anxious i Kick my legs up and down, maybe rotate my ankles
When going to bed i fidget my legs and rock on my side to ease myself if I can't sleep. Occasionally when I wake and don't have to get up I might lay in bed and sort of space out, and do that sometimes in the afternoon. It sort of like sleeping but it's not.
Are any of these things maybe stims. I dont think anyone else would notice them

Rocking, flapping (if too excited), wobbling knees while sitting, chewing on my pacifier (if not I chomp on my nails), and yes, I'll pick at scabs and so forth as well. My "grossest" stim would likely be plucking my nose hairs out.

Playing with the strings or the hood on a hoodie sweat shirt.
