I'm not sure if I have aspergers but if I do I know I got it from my dad. He is usually quiet and when uninterested in a convo he would make no eye contact which I'm pretty sure are definite are aspergers symptoms. Me and my dad do this thing which I'm not sure if is an aspie thing or neurotypical. When he is talking to my grandmother and talks about personal stuff he usually puts very little input in and just says yes all the time. He does that with a couple other people but not everyone. I do that as well a little. I used to do it but not as much anymore. Also We both do this thing where we are quiet around a friend or acquaintances other friend making the other friend think we don't like them. I now stop myself from doing that and make sure I'm friendly and it always results in people liking me. So are these aspegers traits?

edit: Actually there have been many cases where after getting to know someone they just stopped liking me. Idk I think it's because I'm weird or something

I really wish people would stop calling it "Asperger's symptoms". Even if some aspie traits might seem like symptoms, Asperger's is not a disease. Diseases have symptoms, Asperger's does not.

Seems like nitpicking to me. I've seen 'symptoms' being used for all kinds of stuff, not just diseases.

But to answer the OP, I don't think those are necessarily Asperger symptoms. You could have it, or you could not have it. You might 'just' be shy, withdrawn or a little socially inexperienced. If those are the only two things you have noticed I'd lean more towards you not having it.

Asperger's is a syndrome. "A syndrome is the association of several clinically recognizable features, signs, symptoms, phenomena or characteristics which often occur together." People are probably just being technical.

ECwalker33, I agree with Sanctus. There are several other things that could also explain it. You need to rule those out or find other features, signs, symptoms, phenomena or characteristics that match Asperger's.
