I notice that I will eat the same food everyday for long periods of time until I get sick of them. Right now my current obsession is popcorn, I eat a bag a day, anyone else do this with food?

100% me. Hearing this listed as a common Aspie trait was the nail in the coffin for me, making me realize completely I was an Aspie.

BTW, it was Tostitos last month, Ritz for the past 2 weeks.

I do that exact same thing! Right now, my food is Cinnamon Melts from McDonald's. I actually found it by mistake. I had been eating their cinnamon rolls for a few weeks now, and when I ordered one at a different McDonalds (we were on a different side of town), they gave me a Cinammon Melt and the lady was telling me how delicious they were and that she eats two a day! So I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the package. It was immensely delicious! I now eat them every day! Sometimes even two or three a day! :P Hey, I need to gain the weight anyway. lol

I think it's favoring one food to the exclusion of others. I was pretty limited until 10, then went through another big change of diet at 20ish. My son is really limited and has actually gotten worse with time. but his favorites are good for him and filling. So, I'm not too worried.
It seemed that he couldn't smell meat until he was like 4 and then refuses to eat it. He also refuses veggies that are obvious (odorous or visible). My problem happened at 5 when I couldn't stand eggs and certain veggies and textures nauseated.
So, it was like a regressive thing.

Well, today I looked around the cafeteria, but saw NOTHING new. Then, I turned back and the cook was smiling and holding up a wrap, and said "cajun chicken?"? And I, of course, said YEP! I've had them for the better part of a month. They aren't even on the menu any more! Haven't been for nearly a month. BTW I have a turkey wrap at my local airport, and THEY know it. I've had the same 2 drinks for breakfast for several months.

BTW YEP! It IS an ASPIE trait. It has to do with reluctance to change.

Steve

Yeah, same here. That's when I move onto another food and so on and so forth.

Yes my diet is more varied now. When i was a kid I would not eat any vegetables except carrots and potatoes and no meat. I mostly just ate cereal and macaroni.

I live almost entirely off egg fried noodles and vitamin pills. And I refuse to drink water - only milk.

The alarming thing about AS is the hundreds of tiny things that make other people just like you!

I've had chicken fried rice for dinner (and lunch) for the past few weeks (could be over a month at this point)

I've tried eating other things but even things I like I can't bring myself to eat. Even if I'm hungry, I just can't eat anything other than that specific food. I'm kind of hoping the food changes soon because I'm getting tired of it but what sucks is during the transition between the only food I'll eat and the next food I can eat I don't feel like eating ANYTHING.

Yes, I did a thread about this a while back.
I go through major food fads.
Before it was seafood and vegetables every night.
Now it is chocolate mousses and plums.
The chocolate mousse one has lasted months now lol.

I'm guessing GTFO stands for "get the f**k out." Not very nice, I think nice NTs can post here too.

I'm pretty sure that trait is aspie, I read it in one of the books (I forget which one).

If that's true that's a prickish mindset...Asperger's is not a club and a dx is not a membership card.
