I have by people on the skytrain and bus. It is because I get into fights with people. The r word is a bad word.

Do you mean "ret*d" or "ret*d"?

I've been called both.

I think most people here have been called "ret*d" or "ret*d" at some time in their lives.

Yes

I have also been told that I use autism as a cover for really being a ret*d in addition to the usual autism equals retardation way of thinking.

I would say they are ret*d but since we can't bash NTs I'll say that there are probably people both on and off the spectrum who are of limited intelligence. It shows more when NTs hate on Autism for being so called ret*d.

I have never been outright called ret*d, but I have been treated like it before.

Only as a random insult. No one has ever meant it seriously. Usually I get the opposite reaction from people; they often seem to think I'm some kind of genius. I'm not.

I've probably been called it in the past, but I don't remember a specific instance of it.

Have overheard it at times when out in the public. Usually kids speculating what is wrong with me.

I've been called "ret*d", and "a ret*d". Also a Genius, for my Academic excellence. Lol, it's pretty Ironic

I've been asked by classmates "how are you so smart when you act so ret*d?". Heck, even teachers have insinuated the same thing, albeit through a more polite "wait... you're in this class? I would have thought you'd be in one of the bottom groups...", usually when someone who has taken me in a mixed-ability subject covers for a more academic lesson.

Ah secondary school, the most traumatic part of my life.

I didn't grow up in the most P.C. place on earth, I think, so it's a fairly common insult. I still prefer it to a lot of other insults, tbh.
