Imaginary friends don't count.

That really depends on where you draw the line between friend and acquaintance. I have friends that I haven't talked to in years because of how many times I've moved to a different house. In this context I defined a friend as someone outside of my family who I keep in touch with and/or go out of my way to hang out with regularly. Given that definition, my answer is 3.

Two.

My cousin, who's my age and share a room with.

And an online friend, who I chat and game with.

I have one friend but we are really good friends. We are both very socially awkward so it's good :)

Yes. I regularly hang out with 2 of them and they go out of their way to do it as much as I do. The other one I talk to every day via the Internet.

The definition is far from perfect, but I didn't feel like spending ages on it.

I have a couple of "real" friends and some acquaintances--both in-person and online.

This is a complicated question; I have dozens of acquaintances, and some real friends, and then some in between. It's a sliding scale, so what should be considered a "friend"?

I'd define a friend as someone I care about that has mutual interests/hobbies, someone I can hang out and speak honestly with.

None in real life. I have 3 online friends, one of them I've known for 11 years now.

I feel like I'm alone, but I know quite a few people would call me their friend. I prefer my own company, it's easier and I don't have to think so hard about the other person
