This is very important - if anyone knows of any neuropsychiatrists in the Albany, NY area who are experienced with aspergers and dissociation PLEASE tell me. I can't find any other reliable way to find such a person

I think if you found anyone with experience with Asperger's alone would be enough. Borderline Personality Disorder is commonly associated with dissociation, and pretty much every mental health worker, psychiatrist, social worker, and psychologist I've ever met was quite familiar with the condition as well as dissociation, though only a small handful have the understanding of the specific challenges Asperger's bring with the diagnosis. I can't see dissociation being treated much differently than it is for BPD.

Maybe, but some of the things that I want help with are so tricky that I think it could take a very specific type of doctor to fully understand them

I just asked my Albany friends if they have anyone for you. There is a treatment method called Dialectical Behavior Therapy that is really effective for dissociation and excellent for many autistics (those of us who don't have severe Alexithymia). You could try narrowing the field by looking for that and simply asking the shrinks on the list if they have experience with autism. The last therapist I asked, it turned out her son was actually autistic. So that was a good random hit.

I don't know if that would work, I think I have some form of Alexithymia and it's one of the things I'm trying to fix

It needs to be someone who has extensive knowledge in cognitive science (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_science)
