How many members press 'post reply' to a topic, type in a thought out reply, usually with some good points in your opinion, then decide not to submit? if any do, can you say why? maybe you only do it sometimes, i cant be the only one. do any members get anxious over the content of what is in your own posts if you do submit, rereading it a lot etc, for whatever reason? what are those reasons?

Why do we post personal opinions and information onto the internet for millions of 'strangers' to read? its complicated, i think i do it because it's a less difficult "socially oriented activity" , i think, feels like your taking part in somthing anyway. reading is a different thing of course, im thinking of the posting part. i know that over time on a forum, the other posters stop being just avatars and names and feel like real people, and thats cool. almost feels like you know them, for me anyway. if you post, are you saying deep down that you want others to "know" you?

and an easy question, am i babbling?

To your first questions. Yes I start posts and never finish them often. Its usally one or more reasons:

1) ADHD so I never finished it,
2) It was offensive or mean and I had second thoughts.
3) Not comfortable replying to certain people so had second thoughts.

No, i post any old s**t.

Oh yeah, I do this. Don't really know why. Maybe embarresment, offence, anything like that, if it pops in my mind that that may be what I might do, then I'll probably cancel submitting something.

I decide that my thought out reply wasn't thought out enough or, the desire to state my opinion just leaves me as I don't see it too important of a topic anymore. Something along these lines.

Na, typing [at the time] is as good as speaking to me. My words are who I am...whoever the hell that is. I can't talk to people out there, so I may as well type to people in here.

I'm just another human...and that's all I want to be seen as.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

I have written some fairly long replies, then decided not to post them. I have also deleted sentences from replies I did decide to post. Some threads I don't reply to at all, since my opinion seems to be in the minority on this board. I take care not to offend anyone, because there are a lot of nice people here.

As to yur starting second question. A place like WP is impersonal personal communication. About perfecr for an aspie, wot?

I read it back over and either it sounds dumb or I feel my reply could be taken out of context...

I sometimes worry that I've somehow misconstrued the nature of the topic and that I will be posting out of context(done that before...).Sometimes I compose and revise my thoughts into a post,to the point of irrelevance.Or the thread has drifted away from the nature of my post,and to post would be awkward and moot.

For me, it might be I have nothing to say.
