Hermione Granger, Severus Snape and Luna Lovegood are the most commonly "diagnosed" characters (the later, usually a matter of dispute), but don't you think Harry himself is a very quintessential ASD, as well as Ron Weasley and Neville Longbottom?

People have different ideas of what aspies should be. Severus Snape is a TEACHER, ALUMNUS, and head of the group, so his character isn't unusual. Unless you see more, I would say hold any suspicions. Frankly, *I* think Luna is NUTS! Ron seems like a regular guy that just wants to squeak by, and Neville is a little worse. Hermoine is TOTALLY out of character! That is even a big part of her character in the story. They mention it a lot. She is a "mud blood" that is ZEALOUS! I think she is the only one of those that I might suspect of AS. For Harry, there just isn;t really enough info.

Film adaptation.
"Prosody (from Greek προσωδία) is the rhythm, stress, and intonation of speech."

I think you have a variety of types. Hermione is so charge-ahead bold, I'd doubt it. Ron's just your average clumsy teenager. Harry says a lot of things I'd hesitate to (at that age...;)

Maybe the one who...ah heck...the one who got Harry Gillyweed for the wizard tournament. Maybe him...I think...

Dobby the house elf?

Or do you mean in the film? Neville?

J.K Rowling may not know enough about Asperger's to make up a character with it but some characters have certain traits, Neville and Luna being the ones with the most obvious traits.

Well, I have always sort of identified with Hermione(espically in the first book/movie and the whole issue with Ron) and Luna. And Steve, yeah, Luna is pretty nuts but many would argue that I am as well. =)

I think not. None of the main characters strike me as having autistic traits.

Neville is a Aspie I think, not sure about the rest, though.
