A lot of the time, I feel like speaking out loud will upset me/make me anxious, so I avoid it. It's only been recently, but it's affecting my school life and my (miniscule) social life. Is this a common trait associated with Aspergers, or is it something else altogether?

It could be because you're shy. It could be because you're on the Spectrum.

People don't want to speak "out loud" for many reasons.
