Usually when I hear about fellow Aspie's special intrests they tell me about math or computers or biology or art or music. I love music myself too and I guess I would consider that to be a special intrest but the others I have involve more abstract thought. I love to read and learn about philosaphy psychology and religion. Is that common or uncommon? I love thinking abstractly and I love to get other people involved in debates and discussions about this stuff. Not mean spirited ones just discourse. Doesn't seem to be many others who are like that though so I usualy just drive people nuts LOL

I like music, but I also like literature - especially Shakespeare and his contemporaries. I am interested in philosophy of religion and I am also interested in politics - mainly UK politics.

I have an interest in psychology and also in disability access and rights issues, and especially social attitudes towards disability and how these change over time, and how they can be changed further to, ideally, alleviate all prejudice.

I also like languages - especially the grammar and linguistic structure.

But I like computers too...I'm just not the most technically minded person, so I am interested in them more as a 'subject' rather than as a programmer or builder.

Actually while math and electronics may be most common psychology and philosophy come a close second.

Personally I'm fond of all of those (except math).

Literature and religion as well. I published a paper on the relationship of female characters in Ovid's Metamorphoses and in Shakespeare and another paper where I compared Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles to a journey from the Garden of Eden to the Garden of Gethsemane.

More typiccally of autistic interests, ask me anything about Broadway musicals of the 50's and 60's. Go ahead and give it a try. :D

My special interests are music and zelda, pretty much.

I consider myself not so much a studier of music theory, closer to a musical theorist. I had to teach certain things to myself when my teacher mistaught me. Like the 3 against 4 polyrhythm. She tapped out the rhythm for me, I thought "that doesn't seem right" did a simple division problem in my head, and found the real answer.

As for Zelda.. I can play virtually any zelda tune on the piano.. And I know the Japanese titles of most of the zelda games.. to name a few examples of my obsession.
