Glitter/Calm Bottles

(Sorry if something like this has already been posted. I didn't happen across one.) Does anybody (besides myself) have one? If so, does it work for you? As in... does it efficiently quell your anxiety or give you that sensory pleasure that you need in order to cope? My wife made me one for when I feel overstimulated. 15 minutes of gazing at one and I'm ready to fall asleep. I like it because it's weighty, which I enjoy holding in my arms, and portable enough that I can carry it with me to work.

I love using these. It instantly calms me down just by staring at how the glitter flows around.

Usually I just use my younger cousin's glittery water toy, haha. But they live like 17 hours away so...

How do you make one? Is it just filling water and glitter in a water bottle?

We used that cheapy colored glitter glue you can pick up at markets or craft stores. The solution is about three parts water and one part glue, then dump as much glitter as you want into it and mix it all up. But you can add more glue if you want the sparkles and swirls to flow longer. My own probably lasts about 15 minutes before it totally settles, but depending on how much glue you add, it could last up to an hour or so. You can also mix corn syrup into it if you want it to have more of a swirly effect, but I personally like how clear the glue makes it instead. ^-^

I tried making one. It turned out okay! Do you know how to get rid of the foam in the top of the bottle?

Also, haha... Fun story. I tried squeezing out the glitter glue that I had and since it's at least 4 years old it didn't come out at first. Then all of a sudden it all got onto my face... So now I've just gotten all the pink glitter out of my face.

Oh no! XD At least that stuff is washable, haha. Mine has a lot of foam at the top, too. If you let it sit for a while, it'll go away, but it comes back after you shake it up. We just left a little extra space at the top of my bottle to provide room for the foam. Once you're satisfied with it you can superglue the lid shut, but we have some we just leave screwed closed for experimentation purposes, lol.
