I noticed my son does a lot of hand wringing when he is nervous or scared. He also loves to rub soft things and if near me will rub my arms almost like he can't help but do it because they're "so soft" to him. He also gets annoyed with loud sounds and says that's why he is upset in class sometimes. He has reacted violently before towards his brother. However I've seen him make random high pitch noises when he's happy. Would this be sensory stimulations? I believe Asperger's. High functioning finally got his much needed assessment yesterday. Awaiting the results.

It sounds like sensory stimulation is could be a major part of what you are seeing him do.

I hope your son's diagnosis goes well.

Sounds a lot like stimming (vocal and with hands) and sensory overload to me. What exactly was your question?

I just wanted to get know if that is what it is. Things like this are things I did not pay attention to or just thought were part of his personality. The more I researched the more I see these as part of possible Autism
