Urrr.... I hate yes or no demands of questions which are anything but that simple.

1) I am only afraid of dentists if they are holding a weapon to me or others around me. They do not even have to be in their coat or office to cause this effect!

2) The act of ANYONE getting near my body triggers a high fear response. For a person to get near my face makes me want to run screaming into the night! And the thought of another living being probing around my mouth (or any orifice!) sends me into a complete state of terror.

Used to be terrified but that's because I didn't have a good dentist. That's changed with who I see now. It's almost like a spa experience. My gums get numbed with a topical than the cleaning feels like a massage rather than the painful prodding.

I'm scared of having smear tests. I'm scared that one day I will have to have a colonoscopy for something. I'm scared of getting cancer and having chemo. I'm scared of getting raped or stabbed. I'm scared to touch a spider.

I'd rather go to the dentist than have any of those things. Compared to those, the dentist is luxury.
