I was wondering if there was any other female of color who has asperger's.
In my whole life I have never met any and I have never been able to relate with anyone and I am starting to crave that feeling of mutual understanding.
If you know exactly how it feels to cumulate so many marginalizing traits, you probably feel the need to reach out too, especially if lgbt :|

I'm not a POC, not even a woman, but I didn't want to leave you hanging.

I understand intersecting identites, I'm trans/autistic/bipolar. But I won't even try to say I know how you feel. I am white/male passing, but I still fear bathrooms and locker rooms and male oriented spaces in case I get "found out".

I hope you find someone with mutual understanding. I have known and met POC with autism, so they are out there.

There are at least three "women of color" who post here regularly at present.

That's exactly how I feel. When specific identities intersect with each other to the point of feeling marginalized among the marginalized. I am still hoping to find someone I can PM.

I am moving to another country where there almost no black people, and I am going to try and find work as a software engineer where there are almost no blacks, no women, let alone black women and those who exist face everyday struggle without even being autistic. This got me worried, especially knowing how hard it is to overcome stigma, and ask for accomodations...

I had to give back my appartement keys, I lived there for 5 years, all my routines are broken and I'm a nervous wreck and if I can't find a job where all those other people could't, I won't be able to rent a new home and rebuild a nest for myself.

I am worrying so much about all this I can't work on my projects and read about algorithms like I'm supposed to.

This whole situation scares the living sh#t out of me, please help !

Which country are you moving to?

Based on your use of the word Appartement, it would seem that you're in Italy.

A place like Hungary has few black people; though a place like Sweden has more black people than you think.

I'm married to a black women from the Caribbean, by the way.

France, actually but both languages have latin roots. I am from the (french) caribbean too.
I'm moving to Australia.
I am very scared about interviews because so many of us Aspies are out of work. Why would I succeed when I haven't been able to keep a job before, especially when so few people look like me... I'm so scared

There's a guy on this Forum, named Outrider, who is Australian and is part Australian Aborigine (what Australians call black). He's only 17, though. But you can speak with him about how people of different races are received in Australia.

There's a man named RetroGamer, who is Australian (but he's white), and who works in an IT capacity.

You forgot to specify which kind of "BAP" you mean!

I think that she means "broad autism phenotype", and NOT "Black American Princess"!

On this particular thread a reader could take it to mean either thing.

Sendell, why are you moving there, if you have no job? Going with a significant other, or -- ?

There used to be a woman in this forum IIRC called blackcat, who was black and aspie. As I recall, at this point, she would be roughly the same age you are, maybe 21-25. She seemed nice. If you don't see her here, try looking around. She may have the same name elsewhere. I won't even say what I think I know about the other stuff. She seemed to be bright, and she had some normal aspie quirks.

Cafe au lait, who infrequently posts these days, is Dutch and of mixed racial heritage.

She's pursuing a Master's in psychology.

Most black Aspie/autistics here don't identify themselves as black, except when they are inspired to do so.

People of color are not exactly common on WP--but POC are not a rare phenomenon here, either.

I totally agree with you. I don't usually think my ethnicity/race is relevant. I've only been thinking about it because it's a new special interest.
