Winter has started setting in here lately, I've been struggling to sleep in the early hours or catch up on sleep later because of really torturous aches and muscle tension in my limbs. Is this often related to the weather in other asd people? Just subtle weather changes and I'm in so much pain and frustration *^*;

I'll trade you for a few. I'm living in 90's weather and humidity in Florida.

I can relate, it's supposed to be the start of summer where I'm at, and it was in the early 80's the last four weeks, but then a massive storm rolled in yesterday and it's down to around 40 degrees...I hate weather dramatic weather changes.

The cold also has that effect on me. I prefer the warm summer weather.

Sudden cold weather is depressing to me. I don't get aches or have physical difficulties at the onset of cold weather, but I usually feel sad, even upset when the weather turns much colder than normal.

I live in Colorado (in the USA), and it is quite common for us to see temperature changes of 30 degrees Fahrenheit (about 12 degrees Celsius) from one day to the next. Watching temperature drop 30 degrees from one day to the next just makes me feel awful, even if I know it'll happen a couple days in advance. The upset feelings don't go away until the weather warms up again.

For me, the opposite is true: if the temperature rises quickly, it gives me a feeling close to euphoria.

As far as whether this is an "ASD thing," I think it might be more common in people with ASD, with us typically less able to cope with unexpected changes when compared to the general NT population. Not sure about the body-ache aspect, though.

Lol, I live on the western slope...are you getting the storm I'm talking about by chance?-- because it's really brutally cold right now for being mid-May. The Rockies make predicting Colorado weather a nightmare.

Yeah I get sort of achy when it starts getting cold, after awhile I get more used to it but at first I feel stiff and sore. Especially my old back injuries. I get to a point where I just don't want to move and would rather stay in bed.

Seasonal changes also make me feel like I can't regulate my body temperature, it's just back and forth too much, one minute I'm hot and the next I'm cold.
