Following this thread, What is life in your words?, I was inspired to create this.

When do you feel most alive?

I feel most alive doing high adrenaline sports - such as mountain biking or mountaineering, but stacking them in a spectacular manner, such as flying 10m over some handle bars.
So I guess that I feel most alive when I am experiencing pain of the sudden unexpected kind.

Being 130 ft. underwater observing black tip sharks. Riding a 4 knot current on Barracuda reef watching turtles the size of VW Beetles lounging in their caves. Watching a Goliath Grouper pull up to a cleaning station and open its mouth while an army of cleaner shrimp pick parasites - and watching the other grouper wait patiently for their turn to be cleaned.

Engaging in visuo-spatial thinking. While darting through heavy traffic to The Firebird Suite, generally going through Daytona en route to Ft. Lauderdale. Endorphines are high, and every useful part of my brain is working at once.

When I am sitting or walking by moving water in some peaceful place such as hiking in the mountains by a a mountain stream, or at school while i am sitting beside the reflection pond fountains with the cool breeze occasionally spraying some mist towards me. I like watching the patterns in the water, hearing the sound of the moving water, and feeling the coolness it gives off.

When I'm in a lecture which I find really interesting or just after an exam which I feel went well.

Mostly when I do something that has to do with my obsessions... it just makes me feel that I am lucky to love such great things and happy that I'm alive to have such luck.

Although, as for time in the DAY, I feel most alive and full of energy at night/midnight.

Maybe when I'm watching/reading/playing a show/book/game that I'm really in to. Or when I'm hugging my dog.

Actually the real answer is when I get to spend time with my daughter, but that's almost never, and that's a whole different deal (saw her last last May)

Me too. I'm pretty zombified earlier in the day. Ironically, I'm more awake and with it when I'm trying to go to sleep than when I wake up! Heck, I've been up for 7-8 hours and I'm STILL not 100% with it yet :D

All the time, just when I notice something I have n't seen before, and when evrything seems on place.

When I'm listening to music, whether it be by myself or with others.

I feel most alive when I'm cycling through the country side on the rail-trails or
the back roads and there is no-one around to disturb me.

When I am out walking in countryside or by water, with my songs playing, living in my own imagination.

When I'm at the beach, or when I'm engaged in some activity I really care about, such as helping a child or participating in fundraisers for a good cause, things like that.

Also when I'm playing a musical instrument.

When I'm traveling. When I'm seeing a really good band (rare) in intimate settings. When I'm writing a paper and coming up with some intense sh**. When I'm breaking something with a sledgehammer.
