Sorry if we can't use that word here. 8O
People think I'm angry, pissed. or stuck up because of my lack of facial expressions it;s hard to smile when nothings funny try to make a half smile try to be polite in the end I just look like this.

Yes, very much so. My default expression is a scowl.

Ha, yes! I've been told throughout my life (20 years of age; I turn 21 tomorrow) that I look angry, upset, etc. I'll never forget this one time back in school, I was sitting on a bench during lunch break with my mates and one other classmate must've been walking past, and he said to me, "Dude, you look like you're gonna come to school one day, bring out an AK and shoot everyone." Obviously, that wiped the 'resting b***h face' off my face and we all laughed.

Another time, fairly recently, I was in the food court in our major shopping centre (always loads of people), let me just tell you, I hate going there, I hate being there. Too many people. So, I find myself walking around with that RBF a lot. So, I was in the food court and one of my school mates whom I get along well with was working at one of the shops at the time, but I didn't know, so I had my RBF on and was making my way to the exit doors. As I was walking past his shop he called out, "Ryan!" and I looked up and saw him, and then my RBF was, again, gone, because I had a reason to have a happy face. Anyway, I walked over and started chatting with him and he said to me, "Dude, you look like you're on a rampage or something". HAHAHA! I thought that was funny. I then explained to him about how that's just how I look in those types of places because I don't like them. I must say, though, that having an RBF can be good, because according to what I've been told, I don't look too approachable and friendly, so nobody's gonna wanna talk to me at all. Quite helpful.

Yeah, that's my two cents.

Always. So much that my friends and girlfriend get mad when I don't smile sometimes.

I seem to have more of a resting sad face. People always think I'm down about something.

Yep that's my default facial expression. It takes work to not look like that, if I don't have the energy or can't be bothered caring that tends to be what I look like. Even if I'm in a good mood. I wish it made me less approachable, people still talk to me in public. I think looking like that offends some people, they take it personally or something. I tend to ignore people I don't know when they talk to me, and I always have headphones on in public, so god knows what they are saying to me. They reckon NTs can read body language, if so why do so many of them approach me? I would put a "fck off and don't speak to me" sign on my head if it didn't attract more attention.

I recall someone calling my resting face one of a dead robot lol. I rarely use facial expressions.

That's the same with me. I've been compared to Mick Avory of The Kinks because of it.

yup, definitely, however only been made aware that, that is the case recently as someone finally mentioned it... Always wandered why people i knew just kept walking by when i was having a coffee in town!... even though i am feeling content inside im just in a relaxed mood, hence a relaxed face, but seems im expected to put more energy in to creating a permanent fixed smile when im out if anyone wants to talk to me!... Put too much energy into keeping NT's happy as it is, now its time they try to understand its my relaxed stance and has no reflection of how i feel inside, if its that bad to them all they have to do is ask how i am and they will get the honest answer... cant act fake all the time! its give and take... If you really want to know someone, then talk to them, but those that reckon they are the least judgmental seem to be the most judgmental.. So keeping my resting b***h face! Because those that care will make the effort and those that dont keep walking by, so actually works in favor of not attracting manipulative's as much... Just my logical approach to OP's question, however might also seem illogical, but for now thats how im viewing it! lol

No one expects a permanent fixed smile. That's considered creepy. It's just that our neutral faces often convey negative emotions we don't intend to convey.

lol, yup, i get that :), but seems everyone has their own opinion when i should and they all seem to differ! But i do when im on a high, its i think that my resting face seems to come across as more intimidating than other resting faces, so to speak..and my inner emotiones tend to be rather...erm.. how do i say it....similar... So rather than please others, i have resorted to what makes me feel comfortable and the plus is that it seems to keep the riff raff of those that often manipulate at bay, so there does seem to be a slight upside to being somewhat relaxed in public, even if the portrayal might not be to everyone's liking.

I have a resting "dinna tangle wi' me, laddie" face, which I guess amounts to pretty much the same thing. If looks could kill, I'd be a mass murderer. OTOH my face doesn't rest a lot, and I frequently smile.

Yes and I usually do it to keep away from situations where I feel I have to "be social." :x
