I will start crying at times because something, usually a mundane occurrence, strikes me deeply in an emotional way. There is little rationale behind this response. Does anyone else do this?

I have not cried since October 28, 1998.

The last time I cried was 4 days after my friend told me he was emigrating. That was a couple of years ago now.

Other than that I've only cried when the depression gets most severe.

I don't really cry much, but will feel sad/moved, or my eyes will start to water in the same way you're describing. Often I'm listening to a song and a certain sequence of chords or notes will illicit this feeling. It doesn't have to have anything to do with what the song is trying to communicate. Architecture or a landscape can create the same effect.
