When I do that, I feel like I'm trying to trick someone into feel pity for me. I mean, I do wallow in negative emotions, that is true. Who else feels this way?

Everybody needs help or advice,
and we should all feel good about both getting and giving help and advice.

That said, some people are manipulative when it comes to doing so,
others are not.

Wallowing in negativity is not helpful.
People generally stay away from negative people
because one negative person can "infect" others with a bad mood.
The good news is, one positive person can also influence many others ... in a good way.

Yes, we can all feel negative sometimes,
and there are times we need to ask for help.
The thing is,
it's important to be positive and supportive to others, too ...
better to build each other up and encourage each other.

I don't feel exactly manipulative when I ask for help, but do I tend to feel I'm being kind of domineering and selfish and putting them in an awkward position because they'll feel reluctant to say no even if they don't want to help.
