What I mean is, people kind of like Daniel Tammet or Jacob Barnett:

not necessarily with their ability peak in math/science, but in any subject.

In almost all the Asperger groups I've been to, I don't really feel like I fit in that well with the huge majority of other people on the spectrum, and I feel it very much has to do with this issue. In other words, their "peaks" aren't as high, and/or their "troughs" aren't as low, with the combined result that their childhood development was less uneven than mine. A lot of them have "normal people interests" like movies, music, and "hanging out", but just are more awkward.

I spend a lot of my days wondering where all the other adults are who can write symphonies, paint beautiful works of art, or do advanced math but have never had a close friendship in their lives. Particularly I wonder where the women with this uneven development are.

If this profile fits you, please stand up and be counted! I'm looking to maybe get a Skype group together to talk about these issues, to feel less alone in our highly atypical pattern of life experiences.

I don't know if it fits your categories, but there's a "highly educated" thread that might relate to some of the things you're thinking about:

I'm not sure if I qualify. If you're looking for savants that compute square roots of prime numbers to like 20 decimal places, that's not me.

I have plenty of deficits. Executive functioning is crap, and I have the typical Aspie problems with central coherence, so I end up struggling with ambiguity, particularly with language. And I also have all the Aspie problems socially.

But if you can get past that, my IQ is in the 99.8th percentile, and I have both a BS and an MS in math. So as far as ability to do advanced math, I'm fine with that. Just don't ask me to make small talk.

Yes, but at the expense of other things.

I am Twice Exceptional:

I am exceptional at being a Wolfman

And being a Court Jester.
