I do. Mainly because I hate patronizing people with a passion. I mainly do this by faking high cheekbones and wearing slightly harsh makeup on purpose. I find my face is too soft and innocent looking. I don't know if it helps with patronizing people, but I am way happier with my looks now.

On the rare occasions when I do deliberately try to look more intimidating, I tend to come off as... well, have you ever seen certain animals that try to appear ferocious by puffing themselves up or doing a weird dance or hopping around, which really just makes them look funny, at least to a human? Yeah I'm lucky if people who are being jerks to me don't start laughing hysterically in my face.

I think I become more intimidating when I put on makeup and by the clothes I wear - I seem more unapproachable.

I'm with lostonearth, it just ain't going to fly for me, I'm small and sort of soft-looking. I guess we're the funny looking birds of WP. Anyway, being invisible is more effective than intimidating.

I think its my facial impressions too. If I smile, people approach me more. It seems that if I don't want to be approached, my facial impressions really show it. Someone brought that up to me before. At this moment in time, I'm not on good terms with my friend Mary who lives in the same condoplex. I was at the mailboxes getting my mail and she came down to the mailboxes at the same time with her husband, no doubt wanting to say something and see why we weren't speaking. All I did was give them one look and went back to what I was doing and they left really quick. I must shoot daggers or something if I am mad at someone.

People talk to me more if I don't have any makeup on. It's weird. Why should makeup matter? I don't get it. When I drag myself out of bed and do nothing, men just flock to me. Men are weird. :)

I don't try to seem intimidating, but I'm a goth/metalhead (if I had to label it), which can intimidate some people. I was wearing ripped tights, spikey jewelry, and all black clothes except for the white skulls on my shirt. I still got called "dear", "sweatheart", "honey", and was approached by a little old man who called me "miss" all in the same day. In other words, I don't think I could look indimidating if I tried. I think I give off a look that says I'm as harmless as a frightened rabbit XP

P.S. I'm rather short and my voice is quiet, especially in public, so that doesn't help, even though I do have high cheek bones :P

Weird. You're lucky to at least have high cheekbones. I just have a wide square/round face.

I don't try to. I've been told I do come across as intimidating (without trying to). I think it's more in my eyes and how I carry myself, or something about my personality or my "vibe" I guess. There is nothing intimidating about how I look physically. My dad told me I was intimidating to him when I was a little girl, lol.

I know I look stupid. Not as in ret*d, but as in dimwitted. There is a difference. I just look like a timid social phobe with learning difficulties. I shy away from making eye contact with passing strangers.

I don't wear make-up (only lipstick), because I'm too lazy.

I don't try to look like anything. I am under no illusions that I am of any great significance, thus I act, dress and behave in a manner which suggests that I have accepted my own unimportance. However, I think I sometimes scare people by how impersonable I can be. I seldom make eye contact; I do not engage in meaningless chit-chat and unless I feel I have to, I do not speak to anyone for more than a minute. Exits were designed for folks like me.

I must be one of the most isolated men in my town. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at my own absurdity.

I don't really try to make myself look more intimidating but sometimes people still find my appearance that way. I am a metalhead and look like one, which some people find intimidating. I usually have on some vaguely satanic metal t-shirt cut offs or tightish jeans(though I'd like another pair of camouflage cargo pants) and I have leather wrist bands and as of recently doc martens boots to wear with it all. I know some females into metal/rock still have a more feminine style whereas mine is more androgynous.

33 and often mistaken for early 20s, with occasional acne and can't grow a good beard. Probably won't intimidate :) But I like laughing too much for intimidation, and the only weapon I want to use is humor.

I spiked my hair with coloured hair gel for two and a half years at one point in my life for that very reason.
