Yesterday I had more things stolen from me , by a pickpocket on the bus who was pretending to be " friendly " :( .
My : good " glasses and some earbuds that I use for this were stolen , and some papers I'd copies that were literally free to me , but had information on them I wanted .
And now they were gone .
I NEVER get to build any good security/establish a footing under me ! My thnigs are stolen or disappear/are worn out  ~ All these months I've been in SF again , as I've said , it's happened to the tune of HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of dollars ~ As I've said , the way my SSDI is paid out makes it hard for me to make major purchases anyway .
If I could just get some money to try and catch up/make up the damage/" help with setting up house " , either where I am or elsewhere ~ But I suppose that will not happen .
At least ever since I was first rendered a homeless person in the mid-80s by my parents , this pattern of not being llowed to establish a footing , but having the rug endlessly pulled underneath my feet/be told " No , no , no ! !! Rush there now ! !! " has continued  .
IV needles:
An unrelated fab groovy Tenderloin/-area in SF observation I've meant to put up for a while:
You can keep finding discarded IV needle plastic covers around here on the sidewalk or whatnot .
One time a bit back , IIRC , I found a discarded cover , then a discarded complete needle a little later ~ Then , around the corner , I came onto someone on the sidwalk shooting up .
Fab San Francisco . Yes sir , Tony Bennett !

Sorry about the trouble you are having. Go to a thrift shop or a Salvation Army store and buy a good tote bag or back pack, with zipper pockets to keep your stuff in, as you go about your day. Buy some little bells from craft supplies at a dollar store, or a Walmart or other store, and hang a few of these on each of the zipper tabs on your new bag. That way, if anyone tries to open any of the zippers when your eyes are turned away, the bells on the zippers will make noise, and you can turn back to deal with the creep trying to rob you. Also consider getting an air horn and/or mace to carry in your pocket to deal with trouble makers. If you think the air horn would be too loud for you to handle, how about a whistle you could wear on a chain around your neck? Trouble makers work best when they don't attract too much attention. If you make a lot of noise when confronting them, they will most likely take off.

Hope this helps! :D

I think I just have good spacial awareness and I always know whether someone is in front, behind, or to the sides when in public. I have pretty good security policies and keep thing out of the smaller pockets as much as possible. I've never had anything stolen in public.

Sorry but I don't know how anyone would steal your glasses and other things from you unless they get close. I would say, don't talk to strangers at all and don't let them get close. Stay away from dangerous tube stops with junkies at them, I wouldn't go to places like that full stop.

...Q , A...I have jackets with lots of pockets not unlike that .
It's not a case of going to tube (subway) stops , I never use the SF subway .
For the general clothes/stuff suggestions , paying for them is a problem ~ And I have already spoken of my lack of " setting up house " money , and the tons and tons of money I've effectively lost in all the stuff I've had stolen/lost/whatever - and now I've found out that I can't get that cheap AT&T phone fixed or replaced , so , along with the $40-ish I spent on the lantern that stopped working , there's the $75 I spent on the AT&T (inc. plan) ! :(
