I already do. I have auditory processing disorder (along with the general sensory processing disorder), and if I don't turn on the subtitles, I miss half of what's said. Listening to people in a crowded room is a lost cause, too.
So I guess in a way I already have some of the experience of hearing loss, without the actual hearing loss involved...
Regarding music and deafness, there are visual equivalents of this art form that look quite a lot like dance. You can also visualize music with color and pattern.
