can you have adhd and autism?

As kid 5 years old i was diagnosed as ADHD but i was re-diagnosed as Asperger when i have 13 years old.

I wonder does it can be possible to have this two conditions at the same time?

I'm diagnosed with Aspergers and ADD (non-hyperactive), and I often wonder if my ADD is actual ADD, or if it's just autism symptoms that are common with ADD. When I get distracted, it's usually with some object I'm fidgeting with or thinking about a special interest. I can also focus very intensely for long periods of time on things I'm interested in. I take medication for ADD, and it does help me with motivation on doing painfully boring tasks.

Yes, in fact a regular library patron {likely in his early to mid teens} often annoys everyone by talking extremely loud to everyone around him. He has done this to the point that the librarians have told him that if he does not talk quietly, he will be banned from the library.

I think ADHD might be beneficial who aspie who had it, because it can drive to other people to contact and interact with other aspies and to close encounter of the third kind with NT's

Got it. Treated for ADD ("hyperactivity") in 1968 and then ASD 1999...

possibly. it's very hard to know, because of how subjective it gets when it's not clear-cut and stereotypical. and adhd+asd is almost by definition the very opposite of anything clear-cut or stereotypical. it's almost like pressing the shuffle button on the human-feature generator machine

me in particular, from the moment i first read about adhd, i knew that i had it, and i've never doubted it for a second ever since. on the other hand, even though later i was also diagnosed with asd, i'm never sure how seriously i can take the diagnosis. it feels to me more like "an extension of my adhd" rather than the other way around
