does anyone else have this problem? I talk during films, like... a lot, i comment on the film, make jokes or you know generally talk to myself a little bit, im probably the worst person to watch a film with. but my theory is that i just don't pick up on the mood of the event because i talk at normal volume and as much as i normally do at night when everyones asleep (which really annoys people), or when i went to school (i went to a catholic school, but im not a catholic and neither are my parents, its just the best one in the area, and the best one for supporting disabilities), i would talk normally and a lot during masses, luckily my best and only friend is also on the spectrum, so we laughed and talked to each other all the way through them without it bothering either of us.

its like i have no "inside voice", and im not sure how to get one, or even get one at the right time.....

Because I generally mumble my "inside " voice level is low, but I do talk out loud to myself and to my husband during shows or while watching tv. At least with home videos he can rewind back to before my interruption. I know it irritates him, but I can't help myself.

Yeah this is a big big problem for me. Ill never forget the time i made a rather inappropriate joke at a funeral and everyone was really mad at me. My dad told me about unwritten rule of respect but i still stand that the joke was very well timed and was the best opportunity to make that joke, i regret nothing.

In other words i dont think im aloud at funerals anymore.

My therapist thought me a 'three second rule' to use in public. I will often count to three before speaking - lets me better collect my thoughts and prepare what I'm about to say and also creates some distance between my 'inside voice' and my outside voice'.

haha in a mass i said (loud enough for everyone to hear....) "haha if he's the incarnation of god, then how come a piece of wood killed him? does that make him a vampire?" aha.......i found it funny at least......well the teachers didn't. and that, as you say, is the reason me and my best friend never went to a mass again and instead stayed in the ELS (Extended Learning Support) room haha it was boring anyway.
