I'm super content and overall just happy right now. That doesn't happen very often. But I'm noticing that I'm stimming like crazy at the same time. It's my repetitive bird-like noise with the hands going, etc. Then I think, "Hmm...when I'm upset I don't ever have this behavior, but different ones..." Interested to know about others of you.

My thought process after reading your post:

"I'm rather happy right now, and I don't think I'm stimming. Oh wait, I'm rotating from side to side in my chair and chewing on the top of an empty plastic water bottle..."

So yeah, I'm almost constantly stimming in some way regardless of my mood. However, when I'm upset I'm more conscious of it and I'm much more likely to do stims like rocking back and fourth, waving my arms around, and clenching my hand into a fist repeatedly.

Don't know if I stim more happy or upset, but can say I seem to have different stims for each with the self harming one (scratching when there is no itch) happening when I am stressed.

I stim about equally. There aren't many differences between the stims in either state of mind except when I am in some sort of physical discomfort. Then I will contort my body weirdly while screaming out certain words or phrases repeatedly, like "Make way for the Queen's Guard!"

I picked about equal. I imagine my happy stimming and unhappy stimming look different though.

Intensity increases greatly when upset. Happy/content is kind of just like background noise, if that makes sense

when im upset, yes, i stim lots, when happy i can't sit still and so stim a lot then as well. i guess it calms me down fairly quickly more often then not so i guess its my "solves all" coping mechanism

When I was little it was when I was happy, but now it's when I'm sad.

Stimming happens when I am happy and/or excited.

I rock and bounce when eat something very tasty. When I am stressed out or upset I rub my forearms or thighs quickly with my hands, until my skin feels hot

I jump around and do a stim dance when I’m excited. Usually I have lots of cartoon/video game images running through my head which makes me very excited. I also rock back and forth to soothe anxiety and flap my hands when I’m excited at something like winning at cards. I really love stimming and I wish I could do it in public. Stimming makes me feel loved. I also love to dance really hilariously and amuse people that watch.

I stim more when I'm happy. I usually flap my arms or clap my hands quickly while squealing/making noises. I only do it when I'm at home. I try to keep calm in public situations and act as normal as possible.
