It's kept me from accomplishing lots of things.

Instead of being in "middle management" or something, I'm just a clerk, and have been one for 36 years, and have never been promoted.

Out of my difficulties, I wish I didn't have issues with social cues/reading emotions. It's hard wanting companionship and feeling like you constantly self-sabotage without knowing it.

Severe difficulties with both verbal and body language. Severe problems with perception in general.

On the bright side, kraftiekortie,

You've had job security.

Not so for me ... it seems you know how to fit in better.

Anyways, here's wishing both of us can accomplish our dreams,
and here's to taking steps in that direction! :)

I wouldn't say this is purely because of autism...but the combination of various things I have going on with makes it hard to accomplish much of anything. I miss the feeling of being really proficient at something and successful at it. Jack of all trades and master of none.

But one autistic trait I really dislike is face blindness. It's just plain embarrassing not to know who people are.

Biggest Grievance?..

It's this little gap in my heart that makes 'normal' things felt rather wrong.
This isn't discomfort that causes anxiety, it causes frustration, this feeling of betrayal or some form of culture shock that I cannot shake it off or get used to.
I don't even have the need of sameness, I even looked onto things in various angles.
Even if I learned it's rationally right, I never learned how to make it feel felt right.

It's a Nothing compare to anyone else's grievance.
It doesn't impair functioning, it simply impairs relating.

Hence my real cure there is wisdom and maturity. And either isn't easy to attain even if I have more time or will to do so.

Since I am mostly reserved and logical, my bigger complaint is with NT people, using emotions as a wildcard.

I was just interrupted, by someone (literally) yelling at me, for fixing a machine. I fixed it well, on my own time, for free.

The "problem," is that I didn't believe the person, who told me that it can't be fixed. :? So, I had bad manners.

I have made an effective use of my time and resources. I was content. So feel the problem is with malingerers.

I expect that many Aspies have an objective form of morality, and should not feel so troubled, when they are not actually inconveniencing anybody.

Being dead-pan literal, with irrational people, is my problem.

Overthinking everything. Not being able to just relax and have fun with my friends. I worry too much about things like breaking my routine.
