I mean seriously, WHAT could be so wrong about me so that virtually every single person I could into contact with talks to me like I'm a vegetable?

"Have you just come out of school?" [patronizing voice]

[Subtly slighting me/mocking some what I say]

[Talking to me slowly with this stupid look on their face]

People f**king hate me for no apparent reason. Maybe others can handle this, but I cannot. I'm sure the Autism (poor eye to eye gaze, agreeability, monotone speech etc.), coupled with severe shyness, social phobia and juvinile looks don't exactly help, but goddamn, would it be SO hard for them talk to me normally?

:x

I hate people like that. I wish that they would vanish into the past. The far past.

I get talked down to in my real life out there, yes. It builds a lot of resentment inside oneself. I'm constantly getting taken for "less than" I actually am in one way or another. I'm underestimated in about every way you can name -- age, intelligence, ability for anything.....basically everything, and not to a good result, either.

I know exactly what you mean. Before I was diagnosed with Asperger's in my late 20's, I volunteered right after high school at a school for children with severe disabilities, with preschool students. I had actually attended that preschool myself, which was something the staff was aware of, and because of that, they talked down to me the entire time. I left that school at kindergarten to attend regular schools, and eventually graduated from high school with honors. I only volunteered for the summer before starting college, because I got sick of being talked down to all the time.

Here's how Marie Dubuque would handle it:

I'm not familiar with that lady, but that sounds like good advice; I like it! It's simple but effective. I'm going to try that.
