Hello.
After i turn 18 i am going to buy a dog and (with the help of a organisation) train him to be a autism service dog. Is anyone else considering this? I am not sure if he legally will be a service dog or just a pet that helps me.
Im excited though

Yes, you can legally train your own service dog yourself, with help from a dog-trainer, or using an organization. As long as the dog is specifically trained to do work or tasks that help mitigate aspects of your disability, it is a service dog.

*I should clarify that this applies to people in the United States; other countries may have different laws and criteria.

I did it myself with help from service dog-trainers.

Where i live you have to do it with the help of a organization and you have to do a public access test and you get to offical papers (i dont live in the states).
