Hi. I have an assessment for autism on Friday. My partner said he can accompany me to the assessment. I might feel a bit awkward with him there but on the other hand, it might be useful.
Are there any advantages to being accompanied to these assessments?
Indeed there are! Apart from parents and older siblings, partners can confirm what you describe about yourself and include their own recollections of your behaviors and characteristics. But, your partner doesn't have to be included in the entire assessment. He can join in when it is relevant to the diagnostician's questions.
