I don't know what causes this, but over the past few years I seem to be experiencing really negative thoughts after waking up, but before I get up off the bed. In this event, my eyes are usually closed.

Generally, these negative thoughts involve ruminating on what I did the previous day, feeling really embarrassed about something I said or did, feeling like people will judge me for it and think I'm stupid and crazy.

Then, I get up out of bed and start moving, and the negative thoughts go away, and I can put things in perspective.

What is this, and has anyone else experienced this?

Every month i have to deal with that.
I try to play music like blink 182 right away and get up and rush.
Letting thoes feelings weigh you down...obviously... ive lost jobs that way..

I just stay quiet for the day and hope no one notices....
You can fight it, find distractions..

This only occurs before I rise up out of bed, while I'm still half-asleep. As soon as I am fully awake, these thoughts stop. They are not issues during the day.

I'm wondering if this is a medication issue or if anyone else has experienced specifically this, where thoughts are negative as you're waking up, before you get up out of bed, and then go away as soon as you're fully awake.

Me. Usually it's when I'm really depressed and when I'm in bed I'll think alot about sickness and death to the point I have to get up. Once I get up and start doing things I forget about it. If I'm not depressed, I just jump up out of bed without a problem.

Yeah. You know, I have been under more stress lately, so that may have something to do with it. I've noticed I've been avoiding talking to people more.

I feel like this on work mornings only. I wake up and the first thought on my mind is "shall I phone in sick today?" And I feel all depressed and fed up, because I really do not want to get up this early and be stuck in one building all day, being under pressure to do things I don't want to do.

On days off, I wake up rather happy.
