I finally decided to follow Fnord, Tallyman, and few others that no longer post and leave Wrong Planet. I can no longer handle, nor tolerate all the vitriolic snarkiness that come from certain members who feel that it is their job to denigrate, insult, and belittle others who hold differing opinions on just about any subject here, no matter what side of the political, economic, educational, or social part of the spectrum you reside on. Some of you (and you know who you are) will probably will shout with glee and say "Good riddance to that f!cking fat tub of lard." To those who will do that, the only thing I can say is more's the pity on you, since you'll get your comeuppance one day.

Those that still want to stay in contact, send me a PM. Whether I respond to you or not will remain to be seen.

Farewell, MeisterSinger. I hope happier times lay ahead for you, and I believe that Wrong Planet will be a more congenial place when the current electoral period is over. I wasn't a member of WP at the last election, so perhaps this outburst of ferocity happens each election, I don't know. Come back if and when you are ready, have a spell from the downer stuff, hope you will be refreshed and re-energised by the break from Wrong Planet whether temporary or permanent.

ha ha , great minds think alike. I have already planned my exit strategy from the forum and would of used exactly the same title ( I would say my goodbyes if I find out I don't have ASD ). It's shame you feel that you can no longer stay here but before you go consider this - any advice you have posted here could of been really useful to someone and made a big difference to their life , isn't it worth just staying here to offer advice only to those in difficulty.

Ugh, I was hoping this was a Hitchhikers' reference and not yet another one of these drama topics.
It seems to be just creating more of the same drama you site as the reason for leaving the forum.
People can snark. It can get boring. I can completely understand the need to back off from the site for a while until people get more of a grip on themselves. But why announce it in this fashion? Why does everyone need to make this big announcement, a whole topic on why they aren't going to post on a forum anymore?
Not every topic is snark. There are plenty of non-controversial topics.
I just don't get the point.

This is about the most easy going forum I've ever been on. But maybe I just don't end up in the awful places, wherever they may be.
