KHOU-TV

I do not agree with this in particular, and the "everybody wins a trophy" culture in general.

Same, I hate that kind of thing. What's it called? Disability porn?

I have no opinion of it at all, as it doesn't impinge in any way on my life and makes no difference to me personally. If the boy was happy about the whole thing (and apparently he was) and the two teams were happy to do it then I don't see any problem with it at all. If the boy felt patronised or any members of the two teams felt that they were coerced into doing it against their will then those are issues for them to address, it still makes no difference to me.

I agree with Jute - no harm no foul

I NEVER liked people "letting me win." That sort of thing makes me FURIOUS.

If I suck at something, I suck at something. And I have to live with it.

I'm good at some things, and suck at some things.

Such is life.

Letting someone win is patronising and I absoluetly loath it, it's demeaning and arrogant. However the boy in question wasn't allowed to win, he wasn't even a playing in the match. The teams simply allowed him to come onto the field, during half time when they weren't playing, and let him experience what it was like to score.

I get that.

But I would hope that he learns that touchdowns occur within the context of a game.

If the kid is thrilled, then I'm thrilled.
