As vs NT conversation - golf and tennis
From my observations, AS conversation is more like golf, and NT conversation is more like tennis.
AS people tend to go on a fairly lengthy diatribe about their subject, then let the other person go on their diatribe while they listen; more like a mutual information exchange than a typical conversation. Similar to how in golf, 2 people each play their respective rounds but don't directly interact.
In NT conversation, there is a lot more "back and forth" and changing of subjects, more like a game of tennis where 2 people hit the ball back and forth.
An interesting metaphor except that.... "AS people tend to go on a fairly lengthy diatribe about their subject, then let the other person go on their diatribe while they listen," while I'd agree with the first part I've generally got no interest in hearing what the other person migth have to say.

Well it probably depends on what they're talking about. I think AS people tend to have more fixated subjects of interest; and if the other person isn't talking about a subject they like (e.x. science, philosophy, whatever) they get bored of them pretty quickly).
With NTs, it's often less about the information itself and more about just the exchange of emotions, especially with women.
