Yes,definitely messy. I have organising and planning difficulties. My step daughter wants me to move near her so she can arrange a cleaner to come in.

At work, I once told a student employee who was looking for something to do, "clean my desk!" I was joking, but he took me seriously, and straightened up all the papers, dusted, etc. Naturally, I couldn't find anything after that! I will never make that joke again, the joke was on me. :(

Mine too, and I know when I put something somewhere even if it is a mess and I can't stand for anyone to move it on me or try to "reorganize." If anyone reorganizes my stuff it has to be me.

If I can't see things, I forgot that I have them.

Consequently, they need to be spread out across a large surface.

It is not my problem if everyone else thinks my organized system is a mess :)

I am really neat and tidy everywhere except my own bedroom. I think it's partly a territorial thing because I didn't have my own space growing up. Nobody will come into my space now because it's such a tip. It's weird because I really am very clean and procedural about putting things away in any other location. Every few months I'll realise it's gotten too bad, tidy it up a little bit, and then let it degenerate all over again. It has occurred to me that this is analogous to my mental health ...

My Short term memory, is horrible. I can forget the Piplup plushie I always carry around, Places. Just randomly setting it down with the intention of picking it back up and forget about it. It's even worse when, it's not as important to me. I don't normally forget my stuff in public though. Only at my house still it's a really big problem.

Yeah, that's me. Everything around me has always been a mess. I'll just leave stuff out instead of putting it back and then forget about it maybe a minute or two later. Also my dirty clothes usually end up just tossed on the couch before I do a load of laundry.

Usually it looks like a bomb went off and I don't really even notice until someone points it out. Then I might get around to picking it up... eventually...

I'm definitely messy/disorganized. I'm also quite bothered by mess/disorganization. I basically live in a constant state of overwhelm, trying to motivate myself to address the mess/disorganization, getting overwhelmed by the scale of it all and not knowing where to start. I'm also a bit of a packrat, and all the self-help stuff I try to read on the subject starts with the instruction to throw a ton of things away, which scares me.

I am the same way, except I seem to be able to forget about things even when they are right out in the open where I can see them...and trip over them.

Dianthus are cool flowers.

I spent 15 minutes looking for a set of keys that were hanging exactly where they were supposed to be.

I am extremely organized. In my system, it is literally impossible to lose anything. Can't stand mess, especially sentimental clutter.

i am extremely disorganized. every horizontal surface in my house is choc-a-block with anything i had in my hand that i wanted to put down at the time i passed it.
i almost have to get a bulldozer to clear enough space for me to put a dinner plate on my table (things just slide off onto the floor (which is a horizontal surface)).

when i used to have my own office at work, i used to tack the first page of fanfold program printouts (old line printer paper) to the ceiling and let the rest of the "accordian" drop to the floor, so i could just stand there and scan them for errors or improvements etc.
people had to weave their way to my desk through all the hanging printouts.
i used to get into trouble heaps for the state of my office.
the owner of the company used to get cranky on me when he came into my office.
owner: christ! you've got to be an acrobat to get into this bloody room mark!
me: and an acrobat you are!! etc etc.

i had this hilarious picture as my screen saver as a humorous deflection to the state of my office (when other people had to go in there when i was not there).

i may have that photo enlarged and printed and framed and hang it inside my lounge room on the wall. also to indicate a sense of "you think i'm bad, just look at this!!"

here is another picture i may get enlarged and framed to hang on another wall for the same reason.

i mean everyone comments that i never have had any decorations of any kind in any place i've ever lived, so this may be a salve to that inclination they have.
