Hi, I've been looking for some book offering insight into some of the more complex social rules of interaction that adult NTs follow and that no one talks about...? Thank you in advance...!

What social context? Work place, friendship, going out, dating, relationships?
Which culture?

What are your personal issues? Personal specific examples can help with giving you information that can actually be helpful ;)

Have you read http://www.afieldguidetoearthlings.com/ by Star Ford?

Very astute analysis of NT behaviour.

jbw, I just read a bit on Amazon and yes, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for! Thank you!

Are there any more books like this?

Hi Moondust,

we live in an NT world, and I have not seen anything comparable.

Of course NT autism "professionals" write books, but their perspective of typical human behaviour is often shaped by the lens of orthodox psychology. I have learned much more by reading books through the lenses of other disciplines that also deal with human [social] behaviour. Here a list of worthwhile books:

Anthropology:
The Secret of Our Success: How Culture Is Driving Human Evolution, Domesticating Our Species, and Making Us Smarter (Joseph Henrich)

Evolutionary biology of social behaviour:
The social conquest of earth (Edward O. Wilson)
How 10,000 Years of War Made Humans the Greatest Cooperators on Earth (Peter Turchin)
Does altruism exist? (David Sloan Wilson)

Primate biology:
The age of empathy (Frans de Waal)

History:
The collapse of complex societies (Joseph Tainter)

Behavioural economics:
The moral economy – why good incentives are no substitute for good citzens (Samuel Bowles)
A cooperative species – human reciprocity and its evolution (Samuel Bowles & Herbert Gintis)

Some organisational psychologists also cover interesting ground:
Immunity to change (Robert Kegan adn Lisa Laskow Lahey)
The perverse organisation and its deadly sins (Susan Long)
Socioanalytic methods – Discovering the hidden in organisations and social systems (Susan Long)

These books don't cover the unwritten social rules for daily interaction within any particular culture, but taken together they provide a great overview of the fundamental principles that shape human motivations and social behaviour.

There is much more to human behaviour than what typical psychologists are aware of. This talk by Herbert Gintis outlines the limitations of established disciplines and provides the motivation for an interdisciplinary approach: https://youtu.be/e1KBxsuMH3A

They are called novels. Most works of fiction describe these interactions.
