I understand the criteria of both the DSM IV-TR and V, but failed to find a copy of the ICD-10 for my reading pleasure so far. Do you personally have a preference for one manual over the other? I'm well aware how quite a few people have been upset about some changes made to personality and pervasive developmental disorders in the DSM V.

- I would like to ask whether this book differs between various forms of autism (correctly or incorrectly so) like the IV-TR does or whether it decided on something like the Autism Spectrum Disorder found in the DSM V?

- If the first case applies, then what's the diagnostic critera look like?

- How does the book view PDD-NOS and so called "atypical autism"?

Just go online. You can read the ICD-10 for free online if that floats your boat. None of the autism changes in the DSM V made it into the ICD-10, so you'll still find pdd-nos and aspergers, with mostly the same criteria as in the DSM IV.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I prefer physical copies, it's easier for me to hold my focus. But I will have to compare those online, then.

The pending ICD-11 criteria ( http://apps.who.int/classifications/icd ... f437815624 ) will probably be very similar to the DSM-5 criteria. I like it because it seems to describe the criteria without as many phrases. Simple is good.
